Shannon J. Ludlow, General Manager

For over 17 years, Shannon has celebrated a distinguished career in construction and homeowner’s insurance. Early on, he honed his construction skills working as an Assistant Vice President for a small Gainesville, FL based developer, and then as a Project Manager for America’s luxury builder Toll Brothers.  He later accepted a Vice President of Claims role to help start People’s Trust Insurance, a Florida domiciled P&C insurer with a Managed Repair claims model.  After nearly 9 years of Managed Repair expertise, he joined Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance Company. He now oversees all operations of their Contractor’s Alliance Network’s managed repair division, a vertically integrated emergency response and reconstruction vendor network. In 2003 he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelors of Science in Finance, and in 2019 from the University of Florida with an Executive MBA.  Shannon also holds the prestigious Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations.

Chuck Messina, AVP - Emergency Services

Chuck Messina represents all brands under the Heritage umbrella. He has been with Contractor’s Alliance Network’s parent company since its inception and assumed his leadership role within that brand in March of 2015. In his 30-year career as a licensed insurance professional Chuck has held the position of President for a subsidiary of FedNat Holding Company and Vice President of a start-up P&C carrier in 2006. In 2010 Chuck was approached by two former colleagues and eventual founders of Heritage Insurance Holdings to rejoin forces and launch an innovative P&C carrier domiciled in Florida’s volatile property insurance market. That vision led to his current role and responsibilities at CAN. Today Chuck enjoys furthering his insurance and restoration education while fishing Florida waters as often as possible.

Alex Ruiz, Quality Assurance Manager

Alex Ruiz manages the dispatch of all CAN assignments to the over 500+ vendors within the CAN network. Alex Ruiz also oversees the First Contact process and Q&A of all assignments dispatched via the CAN network. Like many within CAN Alex Ruiz wear’s many hats and is regularly trusted to launch new processes in order to improve the CAN-Service Provider relationship. Alex Ruiz is a native Miamian with over 10+ years’ experience in water restoration. Alex Ruiz holds WRT,ASD, AMRT, and FSRT certifications from the IICRC. Alex Ruiz is also a 6-20 Licensed Adjuster in the State of Florida.

Nicole Wood, Vendor Relations Manager

After six impressive years with Heritage Property and Casualty Insurance, Nicole Wood became the Vendor Relations Manager for the Contractor’s Alliance Network in 2019. Nicole defines the requirements and section criteria for evaluating new vendors as well as managing the entire business partner lifecycle from onboarding and integration to renewals and termination. Nicole’s efforts drive the process enhancements needed to maximize operational efficiency and performance. Nicole currently holds a 620 Adjuster’s license along with an IICRC’s WRT and ASD certifications.
